Every year in May, people go around the town of Asakusa, starting from Asakusa Shrine. They dance energetically while together carrying a portable shrine called a “Mikoshi” with a Goshintai (an object of worship believed to contain the spirit of a deity). They intensely shake the Mikoshi on purpose to increase the divine power and pray for a good harvest, big catch, and chasing epidemics away. They go around the town the whole day. You can check their course and time in advance, however it may be very easy to find them as they are lively.
