Irohazaka is a driving course that can be enjoyed using various transport methods, including route buses and cars, as well as motorbikes and bicycles. It is a tourist path that connects central Nikko with Oku-Nikko. The 48 sharp curves on this path make one think of the 48 characters of the famous Iroha poem, which is where Irohazaka gets its name! There are also signs indicating the 48 curves at each spot, which include lovely illustrations in addition to the characters for Iroha, making travelers on the path suddenly follow these sights with their eyes. Cross Irohazaka path and be greeted with the beautiful sight of Lake Chuzenji! Enjoy using Irohazaka during your Nikko trip!
